Team and access problems

When inviting members fails, someone sees nothing, or permissions won't apply, these steps will help you fix it.

Where to find it: Sidebar › Team › member row › Edit access button, or Settings › Users and roles (same page)

Can't invite: plan limit reached

What you see An error message "You have reached your max team members limit for the current billing cycle."

Why it happens Your plan allows a certain number of team members. The owner counts as one member. When you hit that limit, you cannot invite more unless you upgrade your plan or remove an existing member.

How to fix it

  1. Count how many team members you have in Team › Team Members (the owner counts too). Remove inactive members if you need to make room.
  2. If you need more members, contact support to raise your limit.

Can't invite: email already a member

What you see An error message "This user is already a member of this business."

Why it happens The email is linked to this business already. A person can be on your team once.

How to fix it

  1. Check the Team Members list to see if the person is there. Search by their name or email.
  2. If they are there but should be re-added, remove them first, then re-invite with the same email.

Member sees nothing or all pages are hidden

What you see A team member opens Omnikyo but the sidebar is empty or the pages they expect are missing.

Why it happens The member has no role assigned, or their role has no permissions. Every member starts with either a role preset or custom permissions. With neither, they see nothing.

How to fix it

  1. On the Team page, find the member in the Team Members list.
  2. Click the row to open their access editor (the modal shows "Access for " and their name).
  3. If no role is selected, click Start from a role and pick a preset, or manually turn on Can access page for the pages they need.
  4. Click Save changes.
  5. The member reloads the page to see the change.

Owner is locked out by their own two-step rule

What you see You are the owner, you turn on Require two-step verification in Settings › Security, but then it says "Turn it on for yourself first (Profile and security), so you keep access."

Why it happens When you enforce two-step for the whole team, you cannot exclude yourself. The system prevents you from locking yourself out by requiring your own two-step to be active first. Only the owner can change this rule.

How to fix it

  1. Go to Settings › Profile and security › Two-step verification.
  2. Turn on two-step by setting up an authenticator app on your phone.
  3. Once it is on, go back to Settings › Security and turn on Require two-step verification for the team.

Access edits do not apply

What you see You change a member's access in the access editor, click Save changes and see "Saved", but the member still cannot see the page or perform the action.

Why it happens The member's open browser tab keeps the permissions it loaded earlier, and refreshes them when the page loads.

How to fix it

  1. Ask the member to reload the page. If that does not help, ask them to sign out and sign back in.
  2. If it still does not work, check that you saved the access editor (the toast "Saved" with "Access updated successfully" appeared) and that the permission is actually checked.

"Permission denied" error or "You do not have permission"

What you see Trying to access a page or action shows a message such as "You do not have permission to view team management." or "Permission denied".

Why it happens Your role or custom access does not grant this permission. Each page and action is gated by specific permissions (for example the Orders page, or creating an order). Without the permission, the page is hidden or the action is refused.

How to fix it

  1. Ask the owner to review your role or custom access in Team › Edit access.
  2. The owner can either assign you a different role preset or manually turn on the permissions you need.
  3. Reload the page after the change.
  4. If you are the owner and see this, contact support — the owner always has full access.
