What theme settings is
Theme settings control the visual identity of your entire store. Every colour, typeface, button size, input border, section padding, header height and corner radius lives here. Changes you make apply everywhere at once — to every section and every page — so you can redesign your store without touching any section individually.
The settings are grouped into 14 categories: Colors, Typography, Layout, Buttons, Inputs, Cards, Badges and swatches, Sections, Header, Announcement bar, Footer, Drawers and popovers, Animation and Shadows — plus a final row to switch to a different theme pack. Every category is a single disclosure that opens to show its controls.
Theme settings panel
Open the paintbrush Theme settings toggle in the top bar. The left sidebar shifts from the section tree to the settings panel. A search box at the top lets you find any setting by typing its name.
The panel shows one category at a time. Click a category name to open it; clicking again closes it. A closed category displays a count badge of how many values you have changed from the theme pack's defaults — "3 changed" means three settings differ from what the theme offers out of the box.
Colors always stays visible in search results, even if you search for something else. If your search matches only one category, it opens automatically so you can see the answer right away.
When a setting is locked — shown as a faded read-only field — it means another setting upstream controls it, or the theme pack has pinned it. Locked settings cannot be changed.
How to search
Type a word or phrase in the Search settings box. The panel filters every setting across all categories by label, and hides any category that has no matches (except Colors). For example, typing "corner" shows only the four places corners are decided: the Buttons, Cards, Badges and Inputs categories.
Press Escape or delete the search text to show all categories again. A single matching category opens automatically so you can see the result without an extra click.
Colors and colour schemes
A colour scheme is a named set of colours — a palette your store uses. Sections pick a scheme rather than raw colours, so editing a scheme here instantly re-skins every section using it.
Open the Colors category. The top block shows "Where each scheme is used" — each scheme you have created, which sections use it, and where it appears on the storefront. Below that is a grid of scheme cards plus an Add scheme button.
Add a colour scheme
Click the Add scheme dashed card. A new scheme editor opens with the name field focused. Give it a name (1–80 characters, for example "Festival" or "Summer sale"). As you type, a preview swatch appears showing the palette. Below it are the colour roles — Background and Foreground are required; other roles like Primary and Accent are optional. Click each swatch to pick a colour in the hex editor.
A strip warns if your background and foreground colours do not pass WCAG AA contrast — make them different enough so text is readable. Computed colours appear in the "Derived" section below — they are worked out from the roles you set and can be overridden one at a time.
At the top are buttons to Make default (a star icon; the default scheme is used for new sections), Duplicate and Delete (disabled if the scheme is in use or if it is the last one). Press Save or click outside to commit; Escape discards unsaved changes.
Switch or delete a scheme
Click any scheme card to edit it again. Use the Make default star to choose which scheme new sections start with. Duplicate copies the scheme with all its colours, so you can modify a variation without starting from scratch. Delete is greyed out if the scheme is used by a section (change those sections to a different scheme first) or if it is your last one.
Schemes and sections
Every section on your storefront has a Colour scheme setting in its inspector — changing that setting re-skins the section to a different palette. Editing a scheme here affects all sections that use it.
Typography
Open the Typography category. At the top is a Preset select — the theme pack offers several typography presets (classic, modern, editorial, bold, minimal, mono, playful). Switching presets resets all text roles to the preset's defaults.
Below the preset are groups of controls, each a disclosure: Fonts (which typeface family each role uses), Scale (the size steps), Headings, Body, Buttons & navigation and More roles — price, badge, announcement, footer, links. Each role shows its current font family, size and weight. Click a size or weight number to edit it; click the font family name to pick a different typeface.
Changes save automatically as you type. A reset button (↺) next to each changed setting returns it to the preset's default.
Layout and component tokens
The remaining categories control everything that is not colour or type.
Layout covers page width, gutter (side margins), grid columns, image aspect ratios, section spacing, header height, corner radius and z-index (stacking order).
Buttons controls primary, secondary, tertiary and link buttons — their colours, border radius, padding, whether they have a border, and their size variants.
Inputs is form fields and dropdowns — background, border, focus colour, padding and corner radius.
Cards covers product cards, collection cards and price cards — shadow, background, border, corner radius, padding and hover effects.
Badges and swatches is the look of status badges and colour swatches on product cards.
Sections controls the shell (full-width or boxed), border styles, title sizes and spacing.
Header, Announcement bar and Footer each has its own group of settings: height, padding, background, text colour, logo size, logo position.
Drawers and popovers is the background, shadow, corner radius and padding of cards that float over the page.
Animation controls whether sections fade in or slide as the page loads, and the speed of transitions when you click something.
Shadows — the depth and blur of shadows under lifted elements.
Open each category, change any number, and every section on your store updates in the preview immediately. Reset any single setting with the ↺ button.
What you cannot change
Theme settings do not reach into a section's copy — the words on the page. To edit text, open the section's settings in the inspector (select the section in the outline, then edit its fields on the right panel).
Settings that are read-only (faded grey) are locked by the theme pack. Your theme may pin certain settings to keep the design consistent.
Your changes are saved with the theme
When you save the theme (top bar Save button) or publish it (Publish), all these changes are saved with it. If you restore an old version of the theme, the theme settings restore with it.
