Refresh the dashboard
The Refresh button pulls the latest data and updates every figure on screen instantly — use it when figures look out of date, or after you make changes elsewhere that should show here.
The Refresh button (a circular arrow in the top right of the dashboard) pulls the latest data from the server and updates every figure on screen. Use it when you think the dashboard is out of date, or when you have made changes elsewhere and want to see them immediately.

What the button does
When you tap or click Refresh:
- Every figure on the dashboard refetches from the server: Sales, Ads, Profit, Orders by status, Top products, Needs attention, Courier health, and Cash in flight.
- Meta (Facebook/Instagram) ad spend is refetched separately.
- The campaign filter list (if you have any campaigns left out) refetches.
The figures stay on screen while they load (you see the old data until the new figures arrive). A thin progress bar appears along the top of the content card while the refresh is happening.
How long a refresh takes
A refresh takes at least 550 milliseconds (about half a second), so it reads as a deliberate action and not a flicker. The button then shows a green check for about 1.4 seconds and returns to idle.
If something fails, a red warning icon shows for about 2.6 seconds, and a toast message appears:
Couldn't refresh everything — Some data may be out of date. Check your connection and try again.
The 60-second cache
The dashboard caches data for 60 seconds. If you close the dashboard view and come back within 60 seconds, the dashboard repaints from the last load without fetching again. After 60 seconds, opening it fetches fresh data automatically.
This means if you switch to Orders, make a change, and come back to the Dashboard within 60 seconds, you see the old figures until you hit Refresh or wait for the cache to expire.
Automatic refresh: when it happens
The dashboard has no automatic polling — it does not refresh on its own while you are looking at it, and it does not refresh when you click back into the browser tab after switching away.
However, creating an order from the New Order button does refresh the dashboard. The database figures and live panels (Needs attention, Courier health, Cash in flight) refetch; the Meta ad figures do not (they refresh on the next manual Refresh or after the cache expires).
What does not auto-refresh
- Changing an order's status in Orders does not refresh the dashboard. You see the change the next time you open the dashboard or after 60 seconds, whichever is sooner.
- Manually creating, editing or deleting products, customers or expenses does not trigger a dashboard refresh.
Refresh states
Idle
The button shows a circular arrow. Hover or tap it to see the tooltip:
- First time visiting: "Reload what's on this page"
- After a successful refresh: "Updated just now" (or "Updated {n}s ago", "Updated {n} min ago", "Updated {n}h ago")
Refreshing
The button spins with the label "Refreshing…". The top progress bar is visible.
Success
The button shows a green check and "Up to date" for about 1.4 seconds, then returns to idle.
Error
The button shows a red warning icon and the toast message (above). The last figures stay on screen. Tap Refresh again to retry, or check your connection and try again.
When to refresh
You do not need to refresh often. Use Refresh when:
- You just created an order manually (the New Order button on screen does this automatically, but if you created one elsewhere, refresh to see it).
- You changed something in Orders, Products or Expenses and want to see the effect on the dashboard right away, instead of waiting.
- A figure looks wrong or stale.
- The internet connection dropped and figures are missing.
- A panel shows an error and you want to retry.
Retry a failed panel
If a specific card (Needs attention, Courier health, or Cash in flight) shows an error like "Couldn't load courier health", you can tap the Retry button on that card to refetch just that panel, without refreshing the whole dashboard.
