Schedule an order to ship later

Pick a future date to ship an order, and Omnikyo can hold it automatically until that morning.

Who can do it: Anyone who can edit an order (orders.edit permission).

Before you start

An order must be in one of these statuses to schedule a shipment: New, Confirmed, Hold, or Preparing. Once the order is Dispatched, the ship date no longer matters and the schedule stays only in the activity log.

If the order is already Hold, you can schedule it for the same day or later. If it is in another status, choosing a future date is optional.

Schedule a shipment date

1. Open the order.
2. Scroll to the Money section (where you see Subtotal, Discount, Shipping, Total).
3. Select the Ship on button (or the date button if a date is already set).
4. A calendar picker opens (Asia/Dhaka time zone). Past dates are greyed out and cannot be picked. Pick the date you want.
5. A checkbox Hold until ship date appears below the date. If it is ticked (default), the order automatically moves to Hold status until the date arrives at 00:05 (five minutes past midnight).
6. Select Save or close the picker to save the change.

The toast shows Shipment Scheduled — "Order will be shipped on <date>." The order list shows a badge under the status pill: "Ship today", "Ship tomorrow", "Ship <date>", or "Was due <date>" (red if overdue).

What "Hold until ship date" does

When the checkbox is ticked and you pick a future date:

• The order moves to Hold status right away (if it is not already on Hold).
• Every morning at 00:05 (Dhaka time), Omnikyo checks for orders scheduled for that date or earlier. Any in Hold move back to Confirmed, ready to ship.
• You then ship them as normal.

The order does not go Dispatched automatically. You still book the courier or dispatch it by hand when you are ready.

If you uncheck Hold until ship date, the order keeps the schedule but stays in its current status. This is useful if you want a reminder but prefer to manage the status yourself.

Clear a schedule

1. Open the order and go to Ship on again.
2. Select Clear — ship ASAP.

The badge disappears, and the toast shows Schedule Cleared — "Order is back to ship-as-soon-as-possible."

The order's status does not change. If it was Hold, it stays Hold until you move it.

If a scheduled date is today or past

If you set a schedule for today on an order in Hold, the order moves to Confirmed right away (instead of waiting for the nightly cron). The toast shows Shipment Scheduled — "Ship date is due — order moved back to Confirmed for shipping."

Once a date has passed and the order is still on Hold, the badge shows "Was due <date>" in red and stays red until you clear the schedule.

Questions people ask

Why can't I schedule a Dispatched order?

Once an order is sent to the courier, the schedule does not matter. If you need to delay a parcel that is already dispatched, contact the courier directly.

What happens on the scheduled date?

At 00:05 Dhaka time, Omnikyo moves any Hold orders whose date has arrived to Confirmed. They then appear in the "Due to ship" filter and the dashboard's "Ship-later due today" row. You can ship them when you are ready.

The scheduled date passed but the order is still on Hold

The nightly release runs at 00:05 Dhaka time each morning. If the date has passed and the order is still in Hold, you can clear the schedule and move it manually, or wait for the next nightly run to be sure.

Can I schedule an order after it is Dispatched?

No. Once Dispatched, the schedule field is hidden and the date is ignored. The schedule stays only in the order's activity log for reference.
