Your online store

Your online store is your website on Omnikyo. Everything about how your store looks, what pages customers see, where it lives on the internet, and whether it is open for shopping lives here.

What your online store includes

Your store has several parts, each with its own page:

  • Themes — how your store looks. The design, colours, layout and all the visual parts. You choose a theme pack like Field, customise it, and publish it to go live.
  • Pages — content pages like "About us" or "Contact". Rich text pages that sit on your store at /pages/about, /pages/contact, and so on.
  • Landing pages — single-page sales funnels with their own offer tiers and checkout. You build them from templates, bind a product, and go live at /lp/summer-offer or any handle you choose.
  • Reviews — shopper ratings and written feedback on your products. You approve them before they show on the storefront.
  • Discounts — discount codes and automatic discounts at checkout. Percentage off, fixed amount, or free delivery.
  • Blog posts — articles and news for your store's blog, with comments from shoppers.
  • Contact inbox — messages from shoppers who fill out your contact form.

Visibility and store name, logo and Google listing are under Store settings (the gear in Settings › Online store). Your free address and custom domain are under Settings › Domains.

What "live" means

A theme must be published for your store to be Live. Until then, your store is either Hidden (visitors see it is closed) or Not published (you have a theme but it is not published yet).

  • Not published: Your store is on but visitors see no theme — nothing to shop from.
  • Live: A published theme is showing. Customers can browse and place orders.
  • Hidden: The visibility toggle is off. Visitors see your store is closed, even if a theme is published.

Every theme you work on is a draft until you publish it. You can draft and publish as many times as you like. Only one theme is live at a time; publishing a new theme takes down the old one.

The two design engines

Omnikyo has two ways to build themes — a legacy builder (v2) and a newer designer (v3). Most new stores start with the designer (v3) and the Field theme pack.

If your store was made with the previous builder (v2) when it was the only option, you see a Legacy theme card in your Themes list. You can publish it again any time to go back. Publishing a designer theme (v3) makes the legacy one a draft.

Never use both builders on the same store. Pick one and publish themes from it.

Where everything is

Themes (in the "Online store" group in Sidebar › Website) opens the theme library — your live theme, your drafts, and version history.

Pages, Landing pages, Reviews, Discounts, Blog posts, and Contact inbox are also in the "Online store" group.

Store settings (Sidebar › Settings › Online store) is where you set your store name, logo, Google listing and visibility.

Domains (Sidebar › Settings › Domains) is where you manage your free address and custom domain.

Gated features

Some store features need platform setup before they show up. If you do not see a feature, ask your coordinator:

  • Discounts — if the Discounts item is hidden.
  • Blog posts — if the Blog posts item is hidden.
  • Contact inbox — if the Contact inbox item is hidden.

Permissions

Everyone who can see the "Online store" group can view themes, pages, reviews and other store content. Publishing a theme, changing your store name or connecting a domain needs the right permission — usually Manage storefront or higher.

Questions people ask

What is a "draft" theme?

A draft theme is one you are working on. It is not live — shoppers do not see it. You can edit it, save versions of it, and work on it for as long as you like. Publish it to make it live.

Can I have more than one theme?

Yes. You can keep as many draft themes as you want. Only one can be live at a time. Publishing a new theme takes down the old one.

How is the designer different from the previous builder?

The designer (v3) is newer and has more features. The previous builder (v2) is the older way to build stores. Most new stores use the designer. If your store is on the legacy builder, you can keep using it or switch to the designer by publishing a v3 theme.

Where do I set up my domain?

Go to Sidebar › Settings › Domains. You can change your free address there and connect your own domain.

How do I turn my store on or off?

Go to Sidebar › Settings › Online store and use the Store visible to customers toggle.
