Sign in with a two-step code
After you enter your password, you'll be asked for a code from your authenticator app to finish signing in.
Where to find it: After you sign in with your email and password, the screen shows Two-step verification or Set up two-step verification.
When this screen appears
The two-step code screen appears in two situations:
You've set up two-step verification on your account, and the code from your authenticator app is needed to finish signing in. The screen says Two-step verification and asks you to Enter the code from your authenticator app to finish signing in.
Your business owner has turned on two-step verification for everyone on the team. If you have not set up an authenticator yet, the screen says Set up two-step verification instead and asks you to set one up before you can sign in.
Enter a code from your authenticator app
- Open your authenticator app (Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, or Authy).
- Find the Omnikyo code — it is a six-digit number that changes every 30 seconds.
- On the Two-step verification screen, type the code in the field.
- Press Verify or press Enter.
The code is accepted as soon as you type it, or when you press the button. If you are using more than one authenticator (for example a backup phone), a code from any one of them works.
When the code is wrong
The screen shows That code didn't match. Try the newest code from your app. This usually means the code has expired or you typed it wrong. Try again with the newest code shown in your authenticator.
If your authenticator app and your phone's clock are not in sync, the code is wrong. Check that the time is correct on both devices. If the problem keeps happening, try removing the authenticator and setting up a new one.
If the screen says No authenticator is set up on this account, no code exists to verify with. Set one up in Settings → Profile and security → Passkeys → Add this device.
When your business requires two-step and you don't have an authenticator yet
The screen shows Set up two-step verification and asks you to set one up. Follow the steps under Turn on two-step verification. You'll scan a QR code with an authenticator app, enter the code it shows, and then you can sign in.
If the QR code doesn't scan, you can type the setup key by hand instead.
The sign-out button
A Sign out button on the screen lets you quit and go back to the sign-in form. Pressing it logs you out of the sign-in flow completely.
Questions people ask
Why is the code always wrong?
Check that the time on your authenticator phone and on the device you are signing in on are set correctly. Your authenticator shows a code for 30 seconds at a time; if the phone clock is wrong, the code will be out of sync and you will see "That code didn't match." Correct the time, open your authenticator again, and use the newest code.
What if I lost my authenticator phone?
If you cannot get codes and the business owner gave you a backup authenticator, use a code from that one instead. If you do not have a backup, contact your business owner to sign you out everywhere so you can sign in again and set up a new authenticator. Only the owner can do this.
Can I use the same authenticator for different accounts?
Yes. One authenticator app can hold codes for many accounts, including Omnikyo and other services. Each one appears as a separate entry in your authenticator app.
