The five store setup steps

After your store goes live, Kyo walks you through five quick steps to get selling. Each step has a button that takes you to the right place, and Kyo marks it done the moment the job is finished.

Where to find it: Sidebar › (a setup rail at the very bottom while setup is unfinished)

What the five steps are

The steps come in this order:

  1. Add your first product — Create one product with a name, price, photo and stock count. The button opens the product editor.
  2. See your store — Open your live store the way a customer will. The button opens it in a new tab.
  3. Connect a courier — Save either a Pathao or Steadfast API key in Settings. The button goes to Shipping settings.
  4. Connect Facebook and Instagram — Paste your Meta pixel ID and access credentials in Settings. The button goes to Meta settings under Ads.
  5. Get your first order — Place a test order from your own store using cash on delivery. The button opens your store again.

How you see the steps

In the sidebar: While any step is left, the sidebar footer shows a Set up your store rail with a progress ring showing n/5 (for example 1/5 for the first step). Tap it to open Kyo's setup conversation.

In Kyo's dock: When you navigate to any other page, Kyo's chat closes but stays open in a collapsed dock bar (a fixed bar at the bottom on phones, the right side on desktop). The dock shows the current step's title, a quick hint, and a ring highlighting the button you are meant to press. Tap the dock to reopen the chat and see Kyo's message.

Kyo's messages: Kyo opens the setup conversation with the step's title and brief instructions. When you finish a step, Kyo writes an applause message, then opens the next step's title and instructions. After the fifth step is done, Kyo says "That's all five. Your store is ready to sell, and I'm right here whenever you need me." and the setup rail and dock disappear.

What marks a step as done

The app does not ask for confirmation. A step is marked done when the real thing happens:

  • Add your first product: You create one product that is not a sample. Samples are the three products Kyo added when your store opened; creating a non-sample product clears them automatically.
  • See your store: You press the Open my store button once. The step is done whether the store loads or not.
  • Connect a courier: You save a Pathao client ID or a Steadfast API key in the Shipping settings. The key is checked for validity.
  • Connect Facebook and Instagram: You save a Meta pixel ID, access token or page ID in the Ads settings. At least one is enough.
  • Get your first order: Any order is created in your business, even if you create it by hand in Omnikyo.

If a step is already done

If the business already has data that satisfies a step (for example, you have a product), that step does not get an applause message when setup starts. The chat just moves on to the next unfinished step.

Finding the setup conversation later

Once setup is finished, the setup rail and dock disappear. To reopen the conversation, go to Ask Kyo (OmniAI) in the header and ask "show me the setup steps" or "what do I do next".

On a phone

The sidebar is a drawer that opens from the header button. The setup rail appears at the bottom of the drawer. Kyo's dock bar on other pages is a wide bar across the bottom, replacing the Ask Kyo orb while you are on a setup step.
