Product questions

Answers to common product and catalog questions.

বাংলায়: পণ্য এবং ক্যাটালগ সম্পর্কে সাধারণ প্রশ্নের উত্তর।

Can I duplicate or clone a product?

No. There is no clone or duplicate feature in Omnikyo.

If you need a product with the same details but different name, price or variants, create a new product and copy the details by hand, or use the bulk editor to copy data across products.

Can I save filter combinations (views)?

No. There is no saved-view or filter-preset feature.

However, filter state is preserved in the URL — when you apply filters, the URL updates with ?q=..., &status=..., &cat=..., etc. You can bookmark or share these URLs to return to the same filtered view.

Can I get restock alerts or notifications?

No. There is no automated restock-alert or low-stock-notification feature.

You can monitor stock manually by opening the Inventory page and using the Low stock filter to see products below 5 units. You can also search for a product by SKU in the Products list and check the Inventory column.

Can I import or export products as a CSV file?

No. CSV import and export are not available.

However, the bulk editor lets you edit many products at once in a spreadsheet-like grid. You can edit Product title, Description, Status, Price, Cost, Stock, Category, Tags and other fields at scale.

For Shopify products, you can re-export them back to Shopify and manage them there, but importing from CSV into Omnikyo is not supported.

Can I assign products to collections in the editor?

No. Collections are assigned only from the Catalog tab.

When editing a product, you see the Category field (single choice) but not Collections. To add a product to a collection, go to Sidebar › Products › Catalog (the Collections section) and pick the product there.

The bulk editor shows a read-only Collections column that reflects the collections a product is already in, but you cannot edit it in the grid. Use the Catalog tab to manage collections.

If I edit a Shopify-imported product, does it sync back to Shopify?

No. Once you edit a Shopify-imported product in Omnikyo, its Source changes to Manual and it stops syncing with Shopify.

The product exists in both places, but they are now separate. Changes you make in Omnikyo do not go back to Shopify, and Shopify changes no longer come to Omnikyo.

If you need the product to stay in sync with Shopify, keep it read-only in Omnikyo and edit it only in Shopify — check your Shopify integration settings to see if edits are one-way.

Can I move products between categories?

Yes. Edit the product and change its Category field. You can do this one at a time in the editor, or in bulk using the bulk editor.

Can I bulk edit the Status field?

Yes. Select rows and use the selection bar's Set status dropdown to mark them Active, Draft, or Archive all at once.

Alternatively, use the bulk editor's Status column.

Can I see how many products have never been ordered?

No. The Products page does not have a "never ordered" filter.

You can manually check a product's Recent orders section in the details modal (row click), or export your Orders data for analysis.

How do I manage inventory across multiple locations?

Inventory is managed on the Inventory page, not in the product editor.

When you have multiple active locations, the product editor's stock field becomes read-only. Go to Sidebar › Inventory and use the location picker to adjust stock per location, or use the product editor's "View in Inventory" link to jump there.

Stock, Reserved, Unavailable and Damaged quantities are all managed per location on the Inventory page.
